Living Rochester Suburbs aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast, including on dark sections.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link.
  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled forms that work with screen readers.
  • Motion is kept to a minimum and switches off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Links that open another site say so to screen-reader users.

Known limitations

Newsletter issues migrated from the previous site include some images that were published without descriptions. We have added descriptions where the image carries information, and continue to review older issues.
